Barbara Lorraine Evalena (nee Bailey) Goody has passed away with her family by her side at the Golden Plough Lodge.

Barb was the beloved wife of Joe Goody for 50 wonderful years, until his passing in 2003. She was the loving Mom of Jo Anne Davison (Ken) and Sue Hochu (Peter) and Grandma of Paul Davison (Mollie), Shauna Mullins (Justin), Philip Hochu (Jordyn) and Patrick Hochu. Great grandmother of Victoria, Maverick, Bailey, Charlotte and Carter. Barb was the daughter of Philip and Anne Bailey of Kingston (predeceased) and sister of Agatha. Sister of Harold (Trudy) and sister in law of Chuck all predeceased. Sister-in- law to Tom (Irene), Edith (Don), Ilene, Fred, Harold, Don (Peg), Bob, Ted and Jane (Doug), all predeceased. Survived by sisters in law Louise, Jane and Bev. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Barb was born and raised in Kingston and played various sports in her youth as a gifted athlete. After meeting Joe, the love of her life, she then moved to Cobourg. While raising their daughters, Barb worked at the Toronto Dominion Bank in Cobourg and Port Hope and also worked alongside Joe at their store and then pizza restaurant at the corner of University and Division Streets in Cobourg for many years. Upon retirement, Barb and Joe were together until his passing. Barb was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting and reading while spending time with her family.

Barb’s family wants to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Victoria Retirement Residence and the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg where Barb lived for almost 5 years until her passing. While the last few years became more challenging as her health declined, the wonderful GPL staff is to be commended for the exceptional care and kindness Barb received despite the many challenges of dealing with the stress and restrictions of the Covid 19 pandemic.

The family will be reuniting Barb with Joe at a private gathering at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cobourg. A Celebration of Barb’s life will be held on Friday, May 27th, 2022 at the Cobourg Lions Community Centre, 157 Elgin St. E, Cobourg from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
