Frances Evelyn (Bettis) Simas

It is with great sadness our family has lost our beautiful mother on Monday, August 29, 2022 in Toronto at the age of 92, after a brief illness. 
Wife of the late Kazys Jim Simas.
Mother of Amber Simas and Tina Megahey.
Mother-in-law to
Murray Bowler, James Richard Dadson and John Megahey.
Nanny to Jimo, John (and wife Samantha), Michael, Shanti, Nicholas and John Patrick.
Sister of the late Laura Angelina Tong.  Sister of the late Peggy Thibault and Aunt to Mary James of Sault Ste. Marie.
Aunt to Paul, Donald, Robert, Lois. And Aunt to Penny, Wendy and Jim of England.
Great Grama to Anais and Ash.

Fran was very active in her community. She regularly volunteered for the Alzheimer's Society, and loved to sing and perform at events. One of her favorites was attending the Open Mic and Jammers music nights. Fran was a Snowbird and carried her love for sun and music to Florida for many years. She played guitar and the Ukulele. A lover of Cats, and Dogs. Always carried a smile on her face and made many, many friends throughout the years.
Her many talents included writing a book on tea leaf-reading and could sketch in charcol, did soft crafts and sewing costumes.
She also coached singing at  Thornhill Country Club and assisted in their choreography.
