OOSTERHOF, Geert (Gord)
Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on September 6th ,2022, in his 97th year. Loving wife of 71 years, Sophia Oosterhof(nee Bakker). Remembered by children Frances Arbour (Paul), Audrey Arbour (Robert), John Oosterhof (Carole) and Gordon Oosterhof (Ann). Loving Opa to Natalie (Justin) Daniel (Dalyce), Melanie, Chantal (Joel), Patrick (Kaitlin), Miranda, Amber (Nick), Briana, Jonathan (Cheyenne), Alexandria, Katie, Nicholas, and the late Michel. Grand Opa to Drew, Pierina, Madelaine, Genevieve, Westen, Drake, Heston, Ruby, Gabriel, Caleb, and the late Michel. Brother to Lambertus, predeceased by 3 sisters, Hiltje Smit, Eef Van Hierden and Corrie De Boer.
Gord was a WW2 survivor remaining underground till the liberation of the Netherlands by the Canadians. He then joined the Dutch armed forces completing his service emigrating to Canada from the Netherlands on June 27th , 1949 to follow the love of his life Sophia. Gord received his Canadian Citizenship March 18, 1970.
Gord was the proud owner of the Cobourg Meat Market for over 20 years. After his retirement, he found joy in their farm in Salem. Gord was not quite ready to give up his career as a butcher, so he opened the Windmill Sausage business in Trenton Ontario.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday Sept.30,2022, 11 a.m. at Eddystone Baptist Church, 378 Eddystone Rd., Grafton Ontario.
