Karl Douglas Gillis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karl in his 93rd year on March 10th, 2023 at Centennial Place, Millbrook. Beloved Husband of Norma for 66 years. Loving father of Marilyn Lunn (Ralph), Bill Gillis (Alana), Doug Gillis (Shelly) and Krista Redfern (Barry). Dear grandfather of Greg (Laura), Rachel (Jarone), Joshawa (Dayna), Curtis (Ashley), Bradlee (Katrina) and Alyssa. Lovingly remembered by his five great grandchildren Wyatt, Nicholas, Parker, Holly and Marley. Dear brother of Robert Gillis (the Late Jessie) and Murray Gillis (Marilyn). Predeceased by siblings Norma Worr (Austin), Wilfred Gillis (Moretta), Jean Olan (Richard), Howard Gillis, Gerald Gillis (Vera) and Ross Gillis (Joan).

Karl was a farmer and heavy equipment operator working with Northumberland County, Township of Cavan and Durham Region. Karl was a 30 year member of the lions club and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.

The Family would like to thank the staff of Millpond, Centennial Place for their care during Karl’s residency.

In memory of Karl, Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Millbrook Lions Club, or St Johns Ida Church.
