Lyell Kenneth Shields

Lyell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6th. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne and father to Marc, Craig (Christina) and Elaine. He was born in Rosetown, SK, to Albert and Julia Shields. He will be lovingly remembered by siblings Agnes, Gael, Laura and Richard, and many extended family members.

Lyell spent many years working in fashion and film, capturing important moments all around the world, from protests in Brazil to Christmas morning in the Millbrook Valley. He was a proud activist and outspoken feminist, with an open mind and a vibrant heart. From watering the roots of the vegetables in his garden, to tending to his family through shared meals, warm homes and playful adventure, Lyell’s spirit radiated passion and kindness. 

May he rest with laughter, style and joie de vivre, as his family continues to feel his love through freshwater swims and morning sun.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Peterborough, as their staff guided Lyell with such care through his last days. Lyell gently left this world with his loving family by his side.
